Notes Client 6.5 All Platforms

Sorry about the delay in responding, I am the sole technical support for our role-out of 750 users and we are doing a complete desktop replacement all at the sametime.

We did not need to worry about removing 5.0.x as the users are getting clean new machines with Windows XP and notes 6.5 multiuser already imaged to the machines.

Yes it was installed with Administrator but you will need to do an acl change on the local directories, we gave all users Full rights to Program files\Lotus\Notes and Documents and Settings\all users\application data\lotus\notes\data otherwise you will have problems with the upgrade of the templates, also found that you need to make sure that the names.nsf gets upgraded to the 6.5 template, we have also recently found there is some difference between the server and workstation copies of this template.

The notes.cfg information is in the Notes Help file under the heading "Setting up Notes with a scriptable setup". They have detailed all the possible settings including the new ones for Instant Messaging. But the basic details are have a line in Notes.ini in all users with ConfigFile=[path]notes.cfg, then it has a number of settings. See basic's below:

Username={username}
KeyfileName={path}user.id
Domino.Name={domino servername}
Domino.Port=TCPIP
Domino.Server=1
AdditionServices=0

Hope this is of some help.

Cheers Susan
